我今年二月去了泰國南部參加一個靜修營。先介紹它的的生活條件和環境。

住的是水泥搭建的宿舍,每人獲分配一間很小和很簡陋的房間,裏面別無他物,只有一張木板床、一張蓆子、一個木枕頭和一個蚊帳。每日只有醒來和臨睡前的時間才有電供應。洗手間不是沖厠,你要自己打水沖。衣服要自己用手洗,洗完就在門外的走廊曬乾。洗身的地方就在大水缸旁邊,用長布圍起身體,就這樣在公衆地方洗頭沖涼。

早上四點鐘,要起床,晚上九時半要上床睡覺。早餐每日都是一樣,就是豆粥,加新鮮蔬菜。中午飯則是吃齋菜和飯,這亦是全日最後一餐飯。午後不得進食。這樣的生活條件很難適應吧?

還有,靜修營十日,全程要保持靜默,不得說話。

我出發前,曾經擔心過自己是否挨得住,但真是很神奇,這樣簡單和簡陋的生活環境,我很快就適應了。而且,時間越長,甚至愛上這裡的生活。我最後是懷著依依不捨的心情離開靜修營的,不僅依依,還感到有種正能量,對生活充滿期待和希望。我知道我會再回來。

這個靜修營為什麽這樣吸引我?先看我住的地方:

就是這樣簡單的生活,令我至今懷念。

 

上個月去了泰國南部參加一個靜修營,有很多新鮮的經驗,收穫不少。日後有機會在這裏和大家分享。

在十日的靜修營,遇到一個叫Aree的尼姑,她每日天未光都帶我們女的做一個鐘頭的瑜伽,有時還給我們講佛學,晚上就帶領我們繞住池塘慢步冥想。她說,她從前很難想像自己會在這裏教我們瑜伽和冥想。十幾年前,她來到這裏,什麼都不懂,是冥想和瑜伽改變了她的生命。她的瑜伽老師早前逝世了,他是泰國教瑜伽的先行者,本著助人之心,傾力教授,她覺得自己受了恩惠,希望可以把所學傳給別人,算是一種傳承和報恩。

在一堂佛學講座上,Aree尼姑以如何才可以快樂為題,和我們分享了她的心得,她提出了“四十點方案”。現抄錄如下,和大家分享。

Health
1. Drink plenty of water.
2. East breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
3. Eat more food that grow on trees and plants, and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
4. Live with 3 E’s.  – Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy.
5. Make time to pray.
6. Play more games.
7. Read more books than you did in the previous year.
8. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
9. Sleep for 6-7 hours per day.
10. Take a 10-30 min walk daily, and while you walk, smile.

Personality
11. Don’t compare your life to others’. You have no idea what life journeys others have taken.
12. Don’t have negative thoughts on things you can’t control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
13. Don’t over do. Keep your limits.
14. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
15. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip.
16. Dream more while you are awake.
17. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
18. Forget issues of the past. Don’t remind your partner with his/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don’t hate others.
20. Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present.
21. No one is in charge of your happiness, except you.
22. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a life time.
23. Give and laugh more.
24. You don’t have to win every argument.

Society
25. Call your family often.
26. Each day give something good to others.
27. Forgive everyone for everything.
28. Spend time with people over the age of 70 under and under the age of 6.
29. Try to make at least 3 people smile each day.
30. What other people think of you is none of your business.
31. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.

Life
32. Do the right thing!
33. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful or beautiful.
34. Nature and Dharma heal everything.
35. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
36. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
37. The best is yet to come.
38. When you are awake alive in the morning, thank Nature/God for it.
39. Your inner most is always happy. So be happy, peaceful and useful.
