日本發生的9級地震和引發的海嘯，把東北三個縣的多個城市幾近毀滅，造成嚴重破壞和傷亡。福島核電厰反應堆更因爲地震發生輻射和爆炸，現時還未受到控制，影響有多大，尚是未知之數。不過，事件令人再度關注核安全的問題。
香港人有大亞灣核電厰近在旁邊，更應關注這個問題。福島核電事故發生後，大亞灣核電厰的大股東中電發言人馬上出來說，核電厰安全，無需擔心，如此言論，乃意料之中。為官的，或主事者，一定會講安撫的説話，這是他們行事的首要準則。
有朋友曾經接受核洩漏拯救的培訓，他說，受訓的時候，接受的培訓是，如果有核事故發生，無論如何，都要安撫大衆，因爲如果造成恐慌，大家都出逃，道路阻塞，則任何拯救行動都不能執行，就壞事了。
大亞灣核電厰真的安全？首先，這核電站是在1987年開工的，雖説是中國首座使用國外技術和資金建設的核電站，但距今已有24年，當時的技術會有多先進和安全呢？今次日本福島核電厰發生爆炸，就是因爲使用第二代核技術的冷卻系統，要靠後備電力泵海水冷卻反應堆，當後備電失靈，冷卻系統就不能運作，導致發生不正常升溫，引發爆炸。如果用上了最先進的第三代核技術，在反應堆上加裝巨型水庫，當發生不正常升溫時，就不用依賴後備電，而是啟動簡單機械裝置，透過自然重力釋放儲水，冷卻反應堆。
大亞灣核電厰使用的正正是和福島核電厰一樣的第二代核技術和冷卻系統。
此外，不要忘記了，大亞灣核電厰在去年10月發生過近8年來最嚴重的核輻射洩漏事件，也是在不夠一年內第3度發生事故（去年5月和6月也發生過核事故），中電在事後三個星期後才報告這事，被批評隱瞞事件。
這事故亦正好説明第二代核技術的冷卻系統不足的問題，因爲事故正好出現在盛載冷卻水的鋼管上。一條鋼管出現裂痕，洩漏輻射，令核電廠工人受到2毫希（mSv）的幅射，相當於連續照20次的X光肺片。
24年歷史的核電厰，且不論核技術水準如何，單是老化的問題，已令安全成疑。萬一發生嚴重輻射洩漏，香港人又可以逃去哪裏？我們的政府有災難拯救和逃生的後備計劃嗎？
當年深圳要建大亞灣核電厰，有百萬港人簽名抗議。

Here’s my quick response:
1) of course you will benefit. no doubt about it. especially if you are not a beginner.
2）i was almost a beginner in spanish when i went for immersion in spain. it helped me a lot. the same will happen with you.
3) don’t learn a language because of its usage / benefits, but because you like it. then you will enjoy the learning process.
4) Enforex is a big player in the language market. Its quality should be guaranteed.

I just came across your blog as I am doing research on immersion programmes in Spain. I am really sorry about posting here- but I just hope to get your attention asap.
I would like to ask you more about your experience and hope that you can answer some of my troubles like:
1)I have got two months time, should I even bother spending on an immersion course? Do you think I would benefit?
2) I am thinking between doing French/ Spanish. I have basic knowledge for french (although its still bad). As for Spanish, I have done a beginners course before, I just know pretty little Spanish. The same question again, would it be more effective if I spend my 2 months time on Spanish?
3) I just can’t make up my mind. Spanish seems to have more “use” than French worldwide (I hate to think in this way, but having to start working, this is indeed part of the consideration :( )
4) Do you know if Enforex is a good school? ( I am thinking of going to alicante since i have a friend there)
5) Do you know of any language schools in France?
Excuse me for dropping off this list of questions. I am pretty excited as I can finally share my thoughts with someone. Hope you can reply me soon, I would be very delighted if we can be friends and share our exp on language learning/ travelling :)
