Where would you picnic? I would say a park. The association cannot be more natural right?
But in Hong Kong, you are not allowed to picnic in a park, even if it is a very big park, occupying a land of 61 hectare.
This is a sign put up at the Hong Kong Wetland Park .Aren’t the authorities a control-freak? Well, for those living long enough in Hong Kong, they won’t be suprised to see signs put up across the city’s parks which admonish you not to play balls, ride bikes, run, etc. But to see a sign that says no picnic in a countryside park that is as huge as 60 hectare, still sends a shock down my spine.
