Hong Kong’s Flower Market in Mongkok (on Flower Market Street) was full of people on the eve of Chinese New Year (2 Feb 2011). People came here for buying flowers, of course. Any flower that is red representing luck would draw consumers.Hong Kong people usually go to two places for Chinese New Year shopping – the Flower Market, and the Victoria Park market where not only flowers are sold, but also all kinds of new year related stuff, such as couplets. Victoria Park market which opens annually days before the Chinese New Year, is more fun, but also more crowded. I’ve not been there for years, for fear of crowd.
